In April ACC organised a workshop in Ashford for charities in Kent on Volunteering. The aim of the workshop was to help charities develop a new approach to how to recruit and develop volunteers, in particular to consider using millennials as volunteers, and to look for specific skills to develop their charity’s capabilities.
The workshop featured three expert speakers and time for delegates to share their experiences and knowledge. The audience included 18 charity delegates plus representatives from a national bank and a Kent based accountancy firm.
Discussion on the day was very lively & enlightening and post workshop feedback indicated that the content, and in particular the expert speakers, provided an excellent learning and sharing experience. Requests for further workshops on Governance, Funding and PR/Social media came from a number of delegates.
